I first learned about HSR through my friends, who were also student reporters at the time.

I applied because I was inspired by the idea of a news organization that gives students a platform to speak about the world and to the world. I wanted to take part in this meaningful activity and contribute my voice to current global conversations.

my experience with HSR directly benefited my studies. While writing articles, I regularly researched news from various agencies, including Herald Media, to find current events that were impacting lives around the world. This broadened my perspective and allowed me to bring real-world knowledge into classroom discussions.

The most memorable part was the guidance I received from our advisors. Even when I made repetitive mistakes due to varying circumstances, they patiently provided detailed feedback and helped me understand what to improve. Their support—ranging from structural advice to comments on content—was what truly helped me grow as a reporter. I especially appreciated when they acknowledged the originality of my work, which made me feel proud that I was delivering valuable news to readers and was developing as a reporter.

I believe Herald Student Reporters gives young students a valuable opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a real reporter—while receiving full support and guidance. It encourages us to broaden our perspectives by writing about diverse topics, and it also offers a unique platform to express our personal voices through opinion articles. HSR allows students to engage with the real world in a meaningful way, preparing us for the future while helping us grow as individuals and communicators.

HSR has been a meaningful experience that allowed me to grow both as a writer and as an individual who cares about the world. I am truly thankful to have this opportunity.
